Setting up Inbound Calling in HighLevel is simple. Here’s how you can get started:
Step 1: Assign a Phone Number to Your User
- Navigate to Settings: In your HighLevel dashboard, go to ‘Settings’.
- Select My Staff: Click on ‘My Staff’ and find your user profile.
- Edit Your Profile: Click ‘Edit’ on your profile.
- Call and Voicemail Settings: Expand this section and choose an inbound Twilio number.
- Forward Calls: Check the box to forward calls to the mobile app and hit ‘Save’.
- Now, you’re set to receive inbound calls on your mobile app.
Step 2: Understand Inbound Call Routing
With Inbound Call Routing, you have three main options to choose where your calls are connected to:
- Lead Assigned to User: Calls go to your mobile app if you have a Twilio number.
- No Twilio Number: Calls are forwarded to your forwarding number.
- No Assigned Lead: Calls go to the forwarding number or the company number if no forwarding number is set.
Now, update these settings to ensure smooth call routing:
- User Phone: Update under ‘Settings > My Staff > Team Management’.
- Forwarding Number: Set under ‘Settings > Phone Numbers > Edit’.
- Company Phone: Check under ‘Settings > Business Info > Company Data’.
Step 3: Get a Twilio Number
Purchase a Twilio number within your sub-account and assign it to a user. This ensures all calls to this number are routed to your mobile app.
